A ramp utilizing the C-Hook is built to have the C-Hook rest flat on the deck of the trailer.  The C-Hook allows the ramps to be used on different trailers of the same height.   If the ramps are used on different height trailers the capacity of the ramps will change.   The different height will also cause the C-Hook to NOT lay flat on the trailer as it should. The C-Hook ramps must be secured to the trailer to prevent movement.   This can be accomplished by either using straps or using a bolt. Straps can be attached to the holes drilled in an aluminum plate that is welded on the underside of the ramps about 2-3’ from the top. If using a bolt, a single  hole can be drilled through the C-Hook and the trailer and a steel hitch pin can be dropped through both of them securing the ramp to the trailer.   It is important that only one hole is drilled.   Multiple holes may cause binding and twisting of the ramp.   It is also important that approx 3/4" space be left between the butt plate of the ramp and the end of the deck. NO RETROFIT TO YOUR TRAILER REQUIRED ALLOWS RAMPS TO BE USED ON MULTIPLE TRAILERS RAMPS MUST BE SECURED TO TRAILER TO PREVENT MOVEMENT DURING USE.
The "A HOOK" allows you to attach the ramps to your van or trailer when a stake pocket or a protruding bar behind the rub rail is present.   The "A HOOK" notch is simply placed over the available bar.  Because gravity is the only down pressure holding a ramp with an "A HOOK" down, you MUST ALWAYS strap the ramps to the ICC bumper or trailer frame below during use.  This added tension will keep the ramps in place and reduce the chance of the ramps shifting during use.  NO RETROFIT TO YOUR TRAILER REQUIRED ALLOWS RAMPS TO BE USED ON MULTIPLE TRAILERS RAMPS MUST BE STRAPPED DOWN TO TRAILER DURING USE!

The "B" Style Hook is a proprietary one piece extrusion that is welded to the end of the ramp.  On the trailer itself a Steel Hook Seat (SHS) or an Aluminum Hook Seat (AHS) must be attached  to your trailer.   This Hook Seat is used as the receptacle that receives the "B" Style Hook.   Once the two are attached, a rod is passed through both the "B HOOK" and the "Hook Seat".  This secures the ramps to the trailer and prevents side to side movement of the ramps while in use.  Though tie downs to the ICC bumper are not necessary, their use increases safety and thus we recommend their use.  SAFEST, MOST STABLE HOOK STYLE AVAILABLE HOOK SEATS REQUIRED ON EACH TRAILER USING RAMPS
